This bike kept coming up when I was looking for a local (read: in the same country) builder. In the end I did go with him and I haven't regretted it, it's a fine frame. I hope he's still around, he claimed that my build would be his last.

Ah wicked, I had no idea about the framebuilder, just found it on google images. Let's see yours?

This was from new, almost 5 years ago.
Now with double crank, Tubus Fly rack and SKS fenders.
Still with Paselas.

What's up with the front straddle cable? look really short!

• #10059
You're only looking at half of it, it's the same length as the back one.

So here's another question for the functional nerds: If I slacken my head tube angle by about 1 degree, but keep the resulting trail the same, what would the effect on handling be?
I'm thinking about swapping my road bike to a steel fork, for greater tyre capacity. The Thorn Brevet is a similar length to the original with greater offset, and the Soma Champe Elysees fork is about 20mm longer, but with even more offset, both should result in a trail of about 40-44mm.
My inclination is to stick closer to the original to avoid messing with BB height, but I may do a 650b conversion anyway if I like the larger tyres, which would bring it back down a bit.

Bike will feel slower to turn but easier to handle off road.
If you have fit a fork with more offset, it should have similar handling.
