Most touring wheel builds I do/see are on quality loose ball hubs, later model deores, xt, xtr (not seen in a while presume xtr is now nitride & candy floss coated titanium ceramic balls?). Especially for folk going to ass end of nowhere, try finding a mavic freehub bush thing in ass end of Burma, 1/4" loose balls be aplenty though
