Nah. He's mostly just good at shedding hair on everything and stealing things from people.
And +1 for ExTra ^^^^^^ - best to always have somebody around if you're adding a kitten, but not everyone does things properly. I guess people don't always know or think it's that important. Looking after your OH's mum's cat for the time being sounds like a happy story, though!
