Not the ideal thread for this but best i could find...
Early morning ftp interval sessions on the turbo:
Is doing it fasted good or not? I'm not looking to lose weight, just to improve my body's fuelling methods for bigger efforts. The whole session would be 2x20 or similar.
I ask as amongst all the articles on the topic talking about the benefits, there are a few warnings that the riding should be relatively low intensity to promote the fat synthesis. Does hourish long sessions qualify as low intensity? I think the warning about keeping effort low is magazines etc covering arses about riders going out all day without breakfast and turning into a gibbering wreck when they get a mega bonk to some extent.
Is there a risk of burning muscle riding too hard when fasted? I always have good recovery food after turbo sessions.
