  • Probably couldn't. Intensity of the whole race was pretty high; he was only able to properly make his attacks stick once Froome and the rest of Sky were significantly fatigued/ill - as in the final two mountain stages. He did attack Froome on the first Pyrenean stage, but if you remember Sky reeled that in pretty smartly and Froome launched a counter move that Quintana couldn't follow.

  • Indeed. Would have though that a sustained series of attacks could have put Sky under more pressure had Movistar been able to maintain them though.
