Whoever had the idea of making the Sky riders go to Sky TV HQ this morning I thank you.

what happened? Give us a blow by blow
Anyone else think Movistar fucked their chances of winning overall to make sure Valverde was on the podium? They rode a pretty conservative pace, perhaps scared of Sky too much, and backed Valverde too much rather than going all in for Quintana

No.

Ugh, post Tour afternoon's dragging on interminably withdrawal symptoms.
I just found myself checking the start list for the Tour of Poland.

Those small cans of Heineken are very popular at the end of big cycle rides that end in/near Paris:-

Fucking wetlips cyclists. If they were really nails they'd ride back to Holland.

I did wonder why Quintana didn't attack more as he did on Alp de'Huez. If another one of those had succeded earlier on he'd have been within seconds of Froome.

Looks like Luke Rowe has dropped one!

Before the last two mountain days, Sky were strong as a team and would have smothered any attack quickly. Movistar would have exhausted themselves making those attacks. It was only in those last two days that Sky lost their strength and exposed themselves to attacks.

Inrng reckons the moment the race was won was the first day in the Pyrenees.
I think it was possibly that day earlier this week where Quintana kept attacking and Froome sort of held him off/stuck with him and only lost a few seconds, then they shook hands after.
If Quintana had succeeded that day then he would have known he could put one or two minutes into Froome and would then possibly have had the final Alp day in mind to do this.
As it was, by neutralising that day, Froome gave himself the leeway to have Quintana attack and win on Alpe d'Huez, while still retaining his overall lead.
That made sense in my head before I started typing.

Ha I got a boastful text about this from a mate working there too.

Probably couldn't. Intensity of the whole race was pretty high; he was only able to properly make his attacks stick once Froome and the rest of Sky were significantly fatigued/ill - as in the final two mountain stages. He did attack Froome on the first Pyrenean stage, but if you remember Sky reeled that in pretty smartly and Froome launched a counter move that Quintana couldn't follow.

LoL. I want to know what!

• #3344
No.

• #3345
You're right. He should have ridden faster and then he'd have won. Lazy Nairo.
-
• #3346
Yes. This.

• #3347
Lol! I know the feeling. Now what am I going to do between 7 and 8pm? I mean it's not like I ride a bike, is it! ;)
Who's in the Tour of Poland, anyway? -
• #3348
If Froome gets that treatment when some of the French public have suspicions about how clean he is, then what should they have been throwing at Valverde, who's already had a ban for doping in the past?
Fcuking French, I'll never understand them! -
• #3349
Half the team taken out by a Frenchie that can't ride straight, what do you expect? Fucking TDF>>>
At least I called Cav's single stage win. That'll get my money back on the OGE losses.
Well done Kenya!
