So... My bearings for my Alpina headset on my Pre-Cursa are knackered, rather than buy a new set, I'll just grab the cartridges from eBay. Only one slight problem in that I have had the headset for a good 2 years now and the stamp on the bearings have disappeared, anyone knows what the diameters I'll be looking for?
I believe it's 30.15 x 41 x 6.5 but not too sure, anyone willing to look at their headset and revert back?

just buy a new headset, it will probably be about the same price

Yep, those numbers are the correct dims. [inner diameter x outer diameter x height]. You also need the correct chamfer to fit a PC, which is 36° & 45°.
MH-P03K 36/45Pair = £8.00 + £1.50 P&P.

My current setup...from random parts..
Saving for new pedals and new handlebar...current 3T ergonova doesnt take a crosstop/gold finger lever i think..

Secretly always wanted a purple ano wheel. If you're going to ride on the tops with a lever like that just go all the way and put some risers on. With black grips.

The current dolan geometry chart is very accurate.
Not really, it would be wise to post stack and reach to make it a lots easier for those who's looking for the correct size.
-

Not really your not really. It is definitely incomplete, but also definitely accurate. My frame measured exactly exactly the dimensions of the chart.
Still, you can't find the differences between the fxe and the precursa, which can be seen just with a photo, so before arguing against the data provided by such a huge expert like me, do your homeworks before sweetheart.

there was inaccurately in the past with the geometry chart.
FXE is still largely the same frame with additional braze on and a slightly longer chainstay.
Calling me sweetheart doesn't do anything for me I'm sorry to says.

No to criticize but I kinda feel that would have been better in a colour ^
Edit: or with black wheels.

Lovely!! I did the same but covered all except the Small Dolan Decal...
Looks like a 54. seems clearly big for you, I think 52 would have been much better for you, maybe...
-
• #2718
Maybe, it rides comfortably.. and i'm not such a fan when the saddle is raised so high. The proportions seem off to me.

It appears they have added the dropouts from the pre-cursa (with the metal plates) back onto the FXE - mine arrived yesterday and the dropouts were a nice little surprise when I unboxed it.

size is too big. You can try to convince yourself, as everyone does when they buy the wrong size, and after the convincing, size will be still too big... We have all been there before.
-
• #2721
ha.. maybe.. maybe. I went a size below what was recommend on Dolan's website. I'm 5'10" and they recommend a 56...
-
• #2722
@thinklocal I reckon you're alright. You will probably adjust your saddle height when you've ridden the bike a bit more. The short stem might be compensating for the longer reach with bullhorns etc. I'm about 5'9" and wasn't sure whether to get a 54 or a 56, I'm glad I went with the 54 in the end though.
-
• #2723
Yeah, that short stem might make the bike handle strangely, but sounds like the right size. Like Ned says, you'll probably put the seat up and want a longer stem once you're more used to riding it. I'm 5'11+ (slightly longer torso/shorter legs) and have a 56, which is only used on track, and it's perfect.
