I think your opinion is formed by the 2008-2012 Deep V fad. You've seen enough of them by now.
Shamals in their day were high performance wheels, the cutting edge. This makes them classic today, so sought after by collectors. Granted, it also helps they're shiny bits of kit!
I like them a lot personally. The hubs, the overal finish, the hidden nipple design etc make them really something to look at.

I've never understood why anyone likes shamals. I've not seen a single build they don't look shit on.
