Someone punched Eddy Merckx in the Kidneys in the 1975 TDF, they say it cost him the race to Bernard Thevenet.

What about those smoke flares though? also I think I saw a bit more fan tossing from the Gendarmes these last two days

Ah yes, I saw the footage of the Merckx incident the other day. That would be taken seriously these days I think, and the culprit arrested. And beaten to a pulp in a French prison. Mysteriously.
Fan tossing? Is that a national sport in Froggieland?
