  • Hoke, Is it worth adding slime or stans fluid to the rear tube as a bit more protection for rear flats, might be enough to get you to work in time or back home in the rain if you pick up something sharp.

  • Thinking of this, but I think if it does happen if I get a puncture I will just get a proper puncture resistance tyres (and swallow my pride and get on the train =/)

    Crazy talk. Taking the pannier off and taking the skewer right out slows switching a tube, but not by much.

  • You don't need to take the wheel off to repair a puncture - just pop the tube out at the point it's punctured and patch it. Easy. Takes some time if you're cack-handed like I am, but that's just recovery time for the post-repair catch-up sprint.
