Another concern is that because I don't have a quick release on the surely hubs, I've still used them for the mounting point for the rack instead of the eyelets.
Aside from the amount of work I would need to do with when I get a punctures is there anything else I should be worried about or should I just mount the rack back to the eyelets for peace of mind?
The only issue I had (with Tortec Velocity rack - the same mount-things and a QR) was a bit of axle slip. The QR doesn't bite into the dropout with that mounting plate.
Make sure those nuts are tight and I'm sure it'll be fine.
