Echelons is racing too. Quintana lost 1.28 to Froome.

I'm not sure anyone called stage 2 as potentially decisive before the race though.

I agree entirely, but everyone said before hand that the first week had plenty of pitfalls and whilst no-one was going to win the race there, they might lose it.
