just a bit sore after 100 odd kms.
I would call that uncomfortable if you can't be comfortable after 100kms.
Get the cheapo Chinese SMP to try out, and remember to put inline seatpost with it.

All the bits are on order, should arrive in the next couple of days. Not going to build anything up until I've done the paint tho.
Decided to go for a slightly more rubbish rattlecan job, albeit with a number of layers and sanding in between. I have a bit of previous with spray paint, but I think trying to work out a spray gun is going to leave me worse off than I am now.
I'm also conflicted about doing a hot pink to black fade and probably fucking it up, or a black basecoat with hot pink paint-splatter, which would be much easier to achieve. I'm throwing this one to forum democracy so... which sounds better?

If you manage to get a vector file of Cannondale logos then let me know as I will be looking to get a frame painted (in the next 6 months) and would love to get the stock decal look going.

I just bought these instead of mucking about with vectors - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CANNONDALE-Mountain-Bike-Frame-Vinyl-Decals-Stickers-MTB-Downhill-Replacement-/131554976611?

I found this guy, looks like OEM decals, can't find any actual photos of them though

Hot pink to black would look awesome, but sounds like it would be a pain in the arse to do well.

@hoops bit of advice plz - I'm going for a black basecoat with hot pink paint splatter. Do you know what the best kind of paint I'd be after for the pink, and any words on technique other than FLICKA DE WRIST

Should have gone with this logo:
Much radder
-
• #736
admittedly a rad logo, but I only really want one set of logos on this'un
Speedplay axles converted to Ti, Pacenti wheels fitted with proper rim tape, GP4000s, Ultegra cassette, QRs and latex tubes fitted. Praxis chainrings fitted.
Frame and fork sanded, primered and the base coats of paint sorted. Tomorrow morning I'm adding the decals, and putting the first coat on for the fade. Should have everything finished and built up by the end of Friday! :)

Just weighed my wheels between paint layers
Mavic Ksyriums Equipe S wheels and matching 23c tyres, 105 cassette, Mavic QRs - 2730g
Superstar Pacenti build, Vittoria Latex tubes, 25c GP4k, Ultegra cassette and QRs - 2496g
For the performance / comfort increase, I'll take a paltry 230g weight loss...

When do we get to see the paint update??

Got it pretty perfect, just letting it dry now. Will rub it down and build it up tomorrow 🔜

there's something quite creepy about that photo

It's got a bit of this about it, admittedly. I don't have a spray booth, I do have a garage... whatcha gunna do?

That's a nice job. Well done

Got it half built before realising just how easily the pink is chipping - broken everything down again, going to put another few coats on and finish it with clearcoat. It'll take a bit of the colour out, but if it's worth doing, it's worth doing well etc etc

Looks great...! Awesome job

That's wicked fella. Definitely clear coat that.

This was as far as I got before deciding to go for more coats and a top layer. You can see roughly where it's heading.

I've got a conical spacer that I'll have to fit, I'm considering painting that too... not sure.
Prrrrooooobably not, BUT, considering what seems to have done the trick is simply lowering my saddle 20mm, I'm tempted to see if I can keep my back pain gone and get a more comfortable saddle. Would rather try a couple and get it right before I shell out on fancy carbon railed bit, tbh
The romin isn't extremely uncomfortable, just a bit sore after 100 odd kms
