Great to meet you today--I hadn't seen this post yet!

I think the plan is to visit some snacky food stops plus one location that's more sit-down. I haven't been to any of those places, but reading about them on-line isn't really enough in the long run. :)

Did someone say vegan rides?

Saffaland is where Frys come from, remember. It's not too hard to be vegan there. Very big Indian population, a large proportion of whom are vegetarians. Most white restaurants will have an option. It can be a lot harder in the townships, as the black population doesn't really do non-meat meals. I carefully explained my order once in Soweto, and then got served ham, because 'Look at you, you are so pale and skinny, you need some meat'.

I think we need to form a ride sub-committee to finally do this ride. :)
Can we make it all the way from Shoreditch to VegBar?
We could do (based on some of the things Ruwi mentions):
Just Fab: http://fatgayvegan.com/2015/06/14/vegan-double-decker/
Essential vegan food truck? Haven't been able to find it on-line.
Cookies'n'Scream? (Camden)
Crêpe place in Brixton/Ms Cupcake?
End at VegBar in Tulse Hill?
That would be a decent ride for working off the flab, too. :)

Yep, all prepared , sadly :(
I wonder if these guys would deliver to the treatment centre?! They're in the same town!

Ha - didn't even see the Oliver quote! He is a bit of a prat on screen but he is championing lots of new talent, including vegan chefs, and has some vegan recipes that aren't half bad.
My (vegan by proxy) mum is so distressed about not having me around to make our food, I'm filling a recipe folder with all our favourite staple recipes :) Turns out there are hundreds in my head - but it's hard to specify the measurements in black and white, not that cooking's ever an exact science anyway.
Yes, had heard about bunny chow. Maybe it's more of a restaurant dish I can look forward to post-treatment though?

Loving this plan! Who's in?

Vegan junk food plus bike = win. I am in.

Ok, so this VegBar place does hot dogs from scratch (ikr!) and even though its slightly expensive, it seems worth it to me as I dont think any other place in London does hotdogs from scratch.
How about we start from Essential Vegan food truck+Just Fab Italian food truck (they are literally next to each other) in Shoreditch---> Vegbar Brixton--->Ms Cupcake Brixton--->Cookies&Scream Camden.
This way we start the day fueling up with the good stuff (burgers and hotdogs) and proceed onto lots of vegan cookies and cakes. Feel free to suggest a better idea/route- this has to be convenient for everyone involved, its only fair :)
Right now its:
@clockwork_killa (+ me)
@Oliver Schick
@Thrasher
@nickvonfiction (?)Once the route is confirmed then we can select a date best suited for us all.
I'm SO excited for hot dogs doe.

Another worthwhile destination in Shoreditch seems to be this:

The owner sounds fantastic:

Good point, would they make it impossible for us to cross the river? Or just difficult?

I'm doing Ride London. And by doing it, I mean getting a Boris bike and finding a way to get onto the course.

OK, so Saturday seems out. What about Sunday (2nd)?

I'm out to buy my first saddle since turning vegan and I was wondering could anyone on this thread recommend a saddle suitable for medium-long rides (50+ km) and available in black,Many thanks

Yes! Looking for a first forum ride as a long time stalker - vegan wheeling would be perfect. Count me in.
