Campagnolo carbon compact cranks have 4 bolts at 110mm BCD and one at 113mm. Will I be able to buy a 110mm BCD narrow-wide chainring and file out one of the bolt holes? @mdcc_tester must know about things Campagnolo crank...

You wouldn't be the first person to do that. Bear in mind that the hidden bolt comes at things from the wrong side, so you have to make sure the chainring is exactly the same thickness as the original one otherwise you'll warp it when you tighten the bolts.

how good are bike24 at comms, have ordered some stuff, and there's no order status on their website, will I get an email/tracking when its been dispatched, or should I be patient and just expect it to arrive roughly within the 2-4 days quoted at order?

Hmm. Thanks for the info. I was gonna use a narrow/wide chainring on my centaur cranks for a 1x11 hill climb set up but I bet the Race Face or Superstar Components chainring is really wide. Perhaps I'll just get some cheap 110bcd cranks and swap out the whole chainset. You reckon going cheap square taper will result in terrible twisty energy loss?

Ruthlessly Teutonic.
You'll receive an initial "order receipt", followed by a "shipping notification" which includes tracking details.
On more than one occasion, I've received their order before UK dispatched goods ordered at the same time.

I'd think a NW 'ring is redundant for a hill climb.
You're unlikely to get any chain slap and the chain will be wrapped so toight around the 'ring that you'd struggle to shift it; think about front shifting up a hill: you have to back-off in order to shift.
Equally, a HC is just the sort of ride where you want the stiffest set of cranks you can lay your hands on.

Don't listen to anyone telling you that Kings Cross can be navigated quickly. I've worked at Kings Cross for two years now and I still get fucking lost in the Underground there. I was half an hour late for work only a few weeks ago (on top of my usual lateness) because I couldn't figure out where the exit was.
Just punishment for not cycling. It's got nothing to do with King's Cross (which otherwise is a very fine example of London's non-Euclidean geometry) and everything with your fate.

I'm in San Francisco at the moment - what's a good bike shop to go to? Wanna buy some SF specific tat like a cap or something

There is a little known shop called MASH

is it true that everything there has MASH written on it ten times?

Nice one! Cheers Tester.
I'm tempted to swap out the 90s Suntour cranks off my winter bike, get a 42t N/W, use it for hill climbs then pop it back on the winter bike for 1x10 goodness. It'll look wack though, and I'm not sure I'll even save weight when compared to carbon cranks + UT bearings + front mech.

Y u no GT?

Is narrow wide really necessary for a hill climb on the road? With the right chain tension I would have thought you'd be ok?

Why isn't my sale thread showing up in the list?

Taxi firm has this in the t's and c's on their site:
BA INT Ltd is not responsible for any loss or damage or stealth to the passengers’ property (i.e. goods or luggage or any other) and/ or any other financial losses caused while loading and/or unloading and/or in the vehicle or trailer operated by us or our sub-contractors or kept in BA INT Ltd’s storage place /any other storage place. Although we are pleased to help you, the passenger is responsible for any valuables/ treasures. For your own safety please take travel or necessary insurance.
Does this mean that they truly can do whatever they want to you (including slamming a seat back onto your carbon forks) and you have to suck it up?

Don't worry he won't have seen that.

I would imagine you could argue that there are reasonable actions associated with loading/unloading that would be deemed null and void should the operative be a cack handed nugget, m'lud.

You can't disclaim away negligence.
I like their use of the word treasures tho.
Is there an opposite stamp for tester dis-approving?
