• I did 2 x 25 minute low cadence (am trying to replicate long climbs) intervals on my turbo before breakfast this morning rather than risking wetness.

Think I'm in a coma now

  • I've never really understood this as a method of training for climbs. Do you normally climb at a low cadence?

High power at high cadence ftw (and enjoy your knees in your old age)

  • Easier to focus on developing power at low rpm? Maybe. Gives you time to focus on getting the muscle chains firing correctly.
As much as the idea of high power at high cadence sounds great, from my own perspective its mostly one or the other at the moment. (although for me low cadence is ~80rpm)

  • Over long climbs (i.e. 30mins plus) at over 8% you don't really have a choice on a 36/28.

The rest of the time i ride at over 85rpm
