We'd like to thank @linklatersllp Linklaters for hosting our flash protest! As a proudly #livingwage accredited employer, LinkLaters should take a special interest in people like us who are integral to the functioning of their business. As part of their responsible business initiative, Linklaters states:
As a leading global law firm, we want our performance to be measured not only by our profitability as a business but also by our impact on the societies and environments in which we operate"
Our aim was to highlight the chain of exploitation that links clients like Linklaters to #CitySprint , who haven't raised the rates they pay their couriers in 15+ years, and are currently refusing to pay a Living Wage despite an ongoing campaign against them. If Linklaters wants to avoid being held jointly accountable for the couriers who deliver their parcels being paid poverty wages, as well as to preserve their livingwage accreditation, Linklaters must demand an immediate change from CitySprint- specifically to enter into dialogue with the IWGB and introduce a minimum rate of the #londonlivingwage, plus reasonable costs and expenses for their couriers.
It was great fun too! Thanks to everyone who took part and made it happen! It's one success in a stairway to change that will continue in the form of taking our #londonlivingwage campaign to Citysprint and other major clients until our demands have been met!
