Did someone DAS me this morning on Commercial Street or did someone just yell Steve at me? (My name isn't Steve)

Morning! I thought it was you!
It was at the round about that i realised i was going the wrong way so i spent the rest of my ride trying to catch you!

Meh I always do this especially on the countdown crossings where I time it to me crossing the line as it goes amber.

I was thinking 'what is he doing riding that way?' But catching me this morning would have been impossible for you: I hit every single light green and it cut 10 min off a 25 min commute. Incredible scenes (for me).

Apparently I was moving too early. To be fair, I do try and push off as soon as the lights hit Amber if there's no peds in the road to get ahead of the cars and bikes pulling off from the lights. But that's my call, whatever, hey ho, the guy can track stand so I'll salute him.
Except of course that they don't "turn amber". The red light stays on and the amber one joins it. the red light prevails. Jumping a red and amber is jumping a red. The idea of the change is to allow you to prepare to move and to allow the road to clear. am sure that if you follow the rather simple rules of the road, you will reduce the number of people who try to educate you.

@NurseHolliday outside the office shoe shop on Commercial Street last night! Epic beard btw! Sorry for your stationary DAS! =/

This. It is amazing how many of these rlj sheep just go when the first one moves, and yet they set off at glacial pace, blocking the people who have waited behind the stop lines for the green light.

Except lights at pelican crossings

• #71485
This is true but important to remember that when the amber light flashes pedestrians still have priority.
-
• #71486
They also have priority everywhere else, don't they? (Where there are no crossings/lights)

Highway Code Rule 170 - unsure if that just applies when turning into side roads though

So long as you aren't doing the thing I keep seeing some wally do at the Pentonville Rd/Amwell crossing. He times his run so when he hits the crossing line on zero he's doing around 20mph. Someday he will meet one of the school kids who use the countdown to time their last minute dash across. I really hope I'm not a witness when that happens.

Who doesn't try to continue their momentum? As long as you aren't being a dick it's usually not an issue.

2 x forum jerseys during regents laps this morning. 2 x geared bikes. Why you do this?
Shout out to whichever of you it was that I tried to speak to, was trying to catch the group in front!

Spotted @mrs_socks yesterday at Peckham Rye heading North down Rye Lane. Hiyaaa! I was disappointed to see only a smidge of your new mermaid hair :(
Shortly after spotted crazy stack courier guy heading South along Peckham Rye. Comment to the husband about crazy stack courier guy's complete lack of road safety and he said that he'd nearly crashed with him the other day and tole him "faacking hell. You've only just come back to work recovering from a broken back, how about trying to keep it that way?" so hopefully Mr Poots has resolved that issue for all of London's road users and he's seen the error of his ways.

I've seen him do that twice, it's utter cuntery of the highest order. First time he fucked the timing up and the lights hadn't even turned green.
I saw him at that same junction on the way home once. Then despite taking different routes, on Wightman Rd shortly after. I think he might live on Hewitt.

I met him in the greenwich foottunnel lifts over a year ago and he was only just coming back to work then. hmmm.

Oh hai! Sorry to disappoint! Was gonna say it usually remains tucked up under the helmet, but if you saw me yesterday, I must have been walking right? (On a library mission to track down book three in a series I'd already got stuck into before realising I was missing my copy...) It's lacking a bit at the mo anyways, needs a top up, so you didn't miss too much! heh.
@ChainBreaker on Tower Bridge road this a.m. I was geared, in a work shirt, no lfgss cap - basically I was in City camouflage.
CB is so hench my goodness me.
