Has anyone really been far as decided to use visible air sole even go want to do skate shoe look more like?

No, the visible air sole isn't necessary. In fact, if one were to skate in these they'd get trashed. They suck for cycling too.

They're definitely comfortable (maybe a hybrid of the air max and Nike free flyknit + SB insole) which was the primary requirement, but I'm over the whole lifestyle/SB shoe.

No need to bin them, they'll probably only last another 6 weeks anyway.
