  • I know. Someone please tell France.

  • Eddy Merckx has also always said no-one can possibly be good at track, climbing and cobbles.

  • World tour teams that needn't have bothered coming: Garmin Cannondale, Orica Greenedge. Any others?

  • Up until yesterday/monday lampre

  • You mean like he was?

  • At least they each have a rider in the top 10.

    I'm quite enjoying Garmin's struggles.

  • Is it me, or did anyone else see Henry VIII win the stage today?

    I know I'm going to get panned for saying this, but cycling and beards just don't go. Unless you like to;
    a) collect insects/food/saliva/energy drink/bars etc. in them.
    Or
    b) you're one of those hipster/victim of fashion types.

BTW, good on you Madiot! Tell it like it is. Just because the world is scared of Putin, no need to be afraid of Tinkof, too.

    As you were ;)

    B.T.

  • Surely if Wiggins can win gold medals on the track, win the tour, finish well in Roubaix in consecutive years ...then Thomas's performance isn't much to sniff at.

He's been made to look good by every single GT contender (bar Froome and Stoneface) wetting the bed.

He'd also have been doing his work much further down the climbs too if Porte and Roche were in better form.

  • What's wrong with beards?

  • ^ ps - thanks for giving me the opportunity to post that picture. It has a real 'you must be new here' vibe.

  • Thought I'd said that.

Basically, they get lots of crap in them when you ride your bike.

Nice photo, nonetheless. Pity his jerseys are so bloody pricey though!

    B.T.

  • For now. Let's see if they still do on Saturday evening. (I'd lay odds they don't).

  • where is there in London that will be showing the Tour this weekend..?

  • If only one of them looked up.... a whole car full of bikes!

  • Pantani, Sean Eadie, the Russian guy in American Flyers?

    All good beards.

  • Froome clearly invincible. Main interest now is whether GT can boot AV off the podium.

  • please, please let it happen! (didn't see it today, how much time does he need to gain?)

  • Half a minute or so

  • for anyone looking to watch the tour in a garden; the minories pub by tower bridge had it on with plenty volume in the garden this afternoon. Top venue imho. Lots of bike space.

  • Sounds tantalizingly doable, but he must be tired as hell with all that work he is doing, while Valverde even seems to be on Quintana's wheel for a good fraction of the time! His combination of good climbing, good descending, fast finishing and cunning makes him a tough proposition to crack, though Perraud and Pinot managed it eventually last year. Now it really is too bad G lost a little over half a minute or so flying into that ditch!

  • cycling and beards just don't go...

    Excuse me but https://vimeo.com/123831260

  • That just made my night. I can go to bed now.
