This is not new news. I'd already undergone the Damascene conversion to the joys of plastic. But...circumstances have had me back on my old steel for a couple of years now. To whit: an observation. Out riding last night I latched on to a couple of fast lads down a pretty technical little descent, it's steep, very twisty with enough straight bits to build some real speed. While they seemed perfectly planted, I was all over the gaff...there's enough flex, especially when changing direction over 30mph to threaten the gooch of the sturdiest bibs. I miss the all conquering, dial-a-lean stabilty of my old bike. I need some carbone back in my life.
