I'm something of a prima donna, I like my bikes to feel nice to ride.

I trained on Open PAve.
Theyre £33 each online and robust. Great training tyre.
Got 7000miles out of a front and it's still got a few left maybe. Backs went every 3500 but that's with a loaded saddle bag.

Zondas are narrow BTW. 13.4mm internal IIRC.

"24/20,5
30/20,5"According to their spec sheet. That's the external width though I guess.
-
• #1731
Yes. 21mm is the old standard for external width, 13.4mm for internal.
-
• #1732
Good wheels though, don't worry too much about on-trend dimensions.
-
• #1733
Any old wheels is likely to have between 13-15mm internal width, so with that in mind, the best combination for speed and comfort is 25mm (Although 28mm is fine, just you won't retain the advantage of that width on such narrow rims).

Life is too short for shit tyres.

@ChrisMGS
Re: the whole rim width/ tyre thing. If you're going to run narrow rims, just buy a high quality 23mm or a 24mm tyre like a Vittoria Corsa CX/SR (respectively).
25's can roll in corners once they've stretched if you really push them on narrow rims and can feel quite sluggish. If you run 23's that are 32otpi they will be nice and supple, which should give you a bit more comfort if you play around with tyre pressure.
You are also probably overthinking all of this. -

What's the max tyre I could run on Archetype's? 28?!
-
• #1737
About 2.2"

About 2.2"c

Frame only fits 23mm in the front, but room for bigger in the back. Should I just run 23mm on both wheels or is it worth it (speed/comfort/?) to put a bigger (say 25mm tyre) in the back?

• #1740
Yes.
-
• #1741
To which question? Or are you having a laugh.
-
• #1742
23 front, 25 rear.
-
• #1743
Thanks. This was my initial plan, but I thought it might be neater to have the same width tyres. Will probably go for this.
-
• #1744
Sorry.
Yes to business-up-front (23) party-out-back (25).
-
• #1745
same width tyres.
23 + 25 means equal pressure (unless you're fat or upright or both).
-
• #1746
Thanks. I should probably put my desire to have equal width tyres aside then and go for this option.

Luckily I'm neither!

I've acquired SSCX biek for commuting duties; what tyre? Can't be too spendy. It has open pro rims. I was thinking 32c at least. The options so far are: Kojak, Pasela TG (can't find them anywhere), Strada LGG (if they come in 32c). Any others? They will have latex tubes.

I'm currently using Clement MXP tyres and they're holding up nicely atm.

Latex tube for commuting.
Latex.

Amey, I have no words.
Pasela's. SJS. £24.99. Doing wonders on my Cross Check.
Wow, that's even weaker than any of the excuses I've come up with for not training... "my tyres feel slow"... damn! I'm adding that to my list.
