  • Are reynolds attacks not weenie wheels? :)
I did a mock up that weighed 6kg on the nose without stem, bars, cables, shifters, pedals or tape. That was with heavy wheels though so should drop a chunk of weight off that. Once sub 7 is reached I can look at 6.8, 6.5 and sub 6 and where would be cheapest to achieve this. Currently the main priority is getting it up and running

@Acliff I was looking at the xr-200's but they seem hard to find in the UK? If i did go with that I would definitely get CX rays as a 385g alu rim isnt going to be stiff whatsoever. How manageable would sub 2kg wheels be including rim tape, tubes and tyres? I already own some 250g tyres which I plan on using

  • No! Attacks weigh around 1450g ..

http://www.stradawheels.co.uk/product/alpine-attack/ .. an alloy wheel set at 1358 claimed and if you swapped the Aivee hubs to Novatec super lights it would be about £130 cheaper for little or no weight change. Probably cheaper still if you can source and build yourself.

Don't run stans tubed! .. Go tubeless! SCHWALBE Pro One. No inner tube.

  • The pulse sprint rims in that wheelset are 430g but cost £70 on their own instead of the £40 for Arc22 430g rims.

Hasnt it been shown that tubeless isnt that much lighter as the rim tape is heavier and sealant takes up a lot of weight?
