  • Because you don't have a lockring thread on the hub? If you ride carefully then using a BB lockring with plenty loctite is OK. Not ideal, but not immediate death either.

    Just don't skid.

    And don't install brakeless.

  • No, I have a old Sovos hub that uses a non standard lockring that are impossible to get hold of now (didn't realise when I bought the wheel).
    No skidding and no brakless although I do like to back pedal for scrubbing of speed. I was exploring all options before admitting (to myself) that I'll have to get new wheel. :)
