less is more in my opinion. cling film for an hour or so (mostly to avoid the dog licking it) wash it in the shower hot as i can stand with a very basic soap, dr bronner liquid. dry with fresh towel sleep on fresh sheets ignore it till it gets itchy and put a tiny bit of shea butter if you want. Plastic wrap for days is lunacy. more you leave them alone the faster you heal. all looks the same in 3 months...
