Popping to Germany this week, does using the Strava app on my phone use my data allowance?

Yes. GPS is free, but the data sync to upload and view activities will require a mobile network. Unless you have wifi access.

You should be able to turn off data. Turn it off before opening app. Once back home, turn it back on and upload without the data charges.

I just discovered fly by mode and had a look at the fun run. I sit in pubs a lot longer than others do.

Today he sent me a strava message that he will only give kudos for rides under 5miles. Should I stop and reset the garmin at every set of traffic lights from now on?

You could always keep short, potentially uninteresting rides private?

How are people doing with the TDF challenge. I've found it a bit of a struggle, I currently on 1223 KMs. I averaging 3o miles a day for the year but the step up to 45 miles a day hasn't been easy. Ive got 3 days off this week so hope to smash it out before the end of the week now.

I don't understand the "KUDOS ALL THE RIDES!" thing. I've got two people who I don't know following me that give me Kudos for absolutely anything I upload.

Block them.

Michael Bailey keeps giving me kudos on any old shit commute. No idea who he is.

I also get kudos on pretty much every ride from Michael Bailey.

I've had a few strangers kudos my uninteresting rides. I think they are hoping for me to return the favour. Collecting kudos must be the new collecting myspace "friends".

All my kudos is coming from Mathew Knights at the moment. He's from Norwich, apparently, where there's not much to do other than click kudos buttons.

This kind of stuff normally comes from "Clubs" you're in.
