Shit, if I could afford to travel all over France I would.

There are 3 members of London RCC (I think) that are currently riding up Firle Beacon near Lewes...

'No Strava necessary, just your word.'
Was it the 1st or 2nd year they run out of roundels? -

You don't need to go to France, you just need to complete the equivalent amount of ascent.
I did it in the Lake District last year.

...anyway, that's 4,950m done. Just over halfway.
Rest day tomorrow then hopefully get the bulk of the remainder done on Thursday and Friday, finishing on Sunday.

I'm aware that I'm talking to myself here but I'm down to 817m to go which I'll do on Sunday as I can't ride tomorrow.
Is everyone else just not bothering but claiming a roundel (which had better not be square this time) anyway?

I tried but failed as I find repetitive stuff extremely boring; I could do it on longer climbs plus this weather can get fucked

Annoyingly this fell between two big bike holidays. A week earlier and I'd have done it... I want to say easily, but I'm still knackered after a week's rest-ish. Anyway, I'd have done it with plenty to spare. Oh well.
The chaps doing it on Firle are/were a bit bonkers - that's a nasty climb - too rampy for maintaining a decent rhythm - and horrible descent back down. Did any of them manage it?

I've had pretty good weather - not exactly summer weather - but it's been mostly dry. It's the wind that's been a nuisance.
I did plan on doing a different ride every day but I've ended up repeating one a few times (squeezing in one smaller one) but hopefully going to break free from the repetition and do something different tomorrow to finish.
I've had people to ride with for a few of the rides which has helped, especially during midweek.

Done. :)
Is anyone attempting it this year?
Today was the first day.
