  • I regularly drive from bristol to london for a 6hr session, then drive back again. I dont really have any problems with it.

I once had a blood leak out of my wrapping onto the seat, which wasnt verry pretty, but seats are leather, so it cleaned off pretty easy!

  • Big breakfast / lunch
    Cherry Coke
    Snickers bar.

Take a bottle for your tattooist as well.

    My standard tattoo setup.

  • Not long at all, I had to wait about a week and half roughly.

  • So I have come back in 1 piece... it was a painful and long 4 hours... will upload pics when I get on my computer... can't do it on my phone for some reasons.

Noon has had to change the design slightly on the go because my leg just wouldn't stop twitching when he worked on a particular area... it wasn't even that painful but my leg and my mind just didn't want to agreed with each other...

  • Xed Le Head fundraising page, those of you who frequent Divine Canvas might want to know.

  • ah that sucks...

  • I can emphasise very well on that, it's like your legs is reacting to the needle despite you knowing and preparing for the pain.

  • Yes, sorry, totally forgot, here goes... not the best pic in the world, kinda hard to take good pics of my own leg...

Now it's starting to itch like a bitch...

  • Nice. love that.

  • Still wanna see yours! And you are right he is very nice but we barely spoke... He has some proper artistic temperament too... Now I am thinking a round 2 with him next year...

  • diffrent and nice.

  • Ace. Love Noon's work.

  • I love it, he got my message across very well, but this is not what I had in mind at all. Basically he just did what he thought would be nice, not complaining though.

  • Reminds me a bit of Kandinsky, very nice!

  • I was hoping he would put a full face to my main character, like how he usually does... but nevermind...

  • Just out of interest, how do you guys care for your new tattoos? I have had very different advice from different artists so just curious to know...

I have been told to shower as normal, use normal soap and apply any fragrance free lotion few times a day. Also to ditch the cling film soon as I get home.

I have also been given very precise advice, which is to wash my tattoo separately from shower for the first 4 days using antibacterial soap, and to use Bepanthen 4 times a day. I was also told to wrap up the tattoo again before going to bed for the 1st night only.

1 artist seems to think the body will pretty much take care of through healing process and the other thinks our body needs a little extra help...

  • My method is different. It's keep under cling film for the first 3/4 days, wash a couple times a day and reapply a thin layer of bepanthem. Never let it dry out and you bypass the scabbing stage.

  • Get home, unwrap and rinse with water (no soap), let it air dry and then wrap again overnight without applying any cream. I then use bepanthan for about a 4 or 5 days, probably about 4 times a day I guess, I try to wash it with normal soap/shower gel before applying a new lot of bepanthan, this seems to stop it itching as much. After that I just use normal moisturising cream.

  • I've only had small/med tattoos but always just wash/bepanthen/re-wrap a few hours later, then same before bed, then just wash/bepanthen next day or two, then just normal moisturiser till it's healed.
My regular guy tattoos another friend who does absolutely nothing to his, and they heal perfectly.

  • I do the same as Sumo, all seemed fine.

  • Does it make it really uncomfortable and sweaty being wrapped in cling film for longer than a few hours? But then anything is better than have an intense itch that you can't scratch.

  • less is more in my opinion. cling film for an hour or so (mostly to avoid the dog licking it) wash it in the shower hot as i can stand with a very basic soap, dr bronner liquid. dry with fresh towel sleep on fresh sheets ignore it till it gets itchy and put a tiny bit of shea butter if you want. Plastic wrap for days is lunacy. more you leave them alone the faster you heal. all looks the same in 3 months...

  • ^ which is all well and good if it's on exposed skin, but if it's on your leg or something you're just going to have your trousers stuck to it all day and screw up the healing.
