On the one hand, it's a 23 year old bike and the seller described it as "Cosmetic condition 9/10"; on the other, the seller should have drawn attention to aberration in the first instance.
In any case, respect to both of you for handling it in such a mature and pragmatic manner - and it's still a very beautiful bike!
