Why the FUCK did you sell that??
-
• #24253
To buy a 996 GT3 (Guards red Mk1 Clubsport, obvs). Then I sold that to buy a 1974 Carrera Targa, just like this one that they are expecting £110,000 - £130,000 for: https://www.silverstoneauctions.com/1974-porsche-911-carrera-27-mfi-targa
Mine was nicer and I sold it exactly the same auction 2 years ago for £50k : https://www.silverstoneauctions.com/1974-porsche-carrera-targa
As I mentioned - FML.

I think that's all of them.
-
• #24261
I thought only Chicano gangster types in slip on Adidas sandals and tube socks were aloud to drive El Camino's anyway.
Or have you had a recent style change?

It all started when I bought a pair of chinos.

Funny how so many people have utes here as their normal car, even if it isn't practical... One of the guys I work with is your regular Aussie young dude, he lifts weights, skates, surfs, wears a baseball cap back to front, jeans too tight, etc, but drives a proper no-messin' ute... The kind of thing every tradie drives... Absolute pile of shit... He loves it... I don't get it...

Are cars an analogue for success there in the same way they are in the UK?
-
• #24269
My car's started making a noise. At low speeds, 25-35ish mph, it sounds a bit like an engine just above idling and then rises in pitch with speed (not revs), loudest at around 50ish then can't really hear it at motorway speed. What might it be? Wheel bearing?
Noticed it a few days ago, started suddenly and doesn't seem to have got any worse but isn't getting any better either.
-
• #24270
Usually if it's a wheel bearing it will be noisier going round a corner one way and quieter going the other. Because weight transfer. Find a roundabout, try it and report back.

Need to get a new alternator put in a mk6 golf.
Any recommendations of where to get it done in east? Ideally E10 area.
-
• #24272
That could be read as advising someone to try going around a roundabout in each direction to check which is noisiest. Which would be bad.
:)

take the chunnel, one in engerland, one in ferance, simples

FWD?
CV joints make similar turn-dependent noises to wheel bearingals, but the outside wheel turns faster, so the noise is faster.

Sorry, good point.
Find an empty roundabout.
And they're not the most attractive either.
