On Hackney Road a few times I got lorries overtaking then flashing a turner. Can't prove it was deliberate.

it's not hard, and i don't get why other drivers don't do the same.

I've noticed recently some bus drivers acknowledging me hanging back to allow them to pull out (whilst indicating) by flashing a couple of 'hazard' lights.
Is this due to some sort of recent courteous training advice ?
Lost on the idiot cyclists trying to beat the bus though.

I class those double hazard flashes as twenty points to me.

I thought that was the habit of bus drivers pulling out into traffic without waiting for a gap but putting their hazards on so people know they're doing something stupid.

No - in this case acknowledgement that you have allowed them out where there was a gap rather than trying to 'beat the bus'.

Had someone sprinkled dickhead powder on the roads tonight?

Cyclists (and it was 99% cyclists) riding like arseholes the whole way.

That's their way of saying thank you as there's too many dickhole not letting the bus go first despite being stated in the Highway Code.

Saw a cycle cop today pull over a mini driver for being on his phone. Cheered my right up.

Well, that was most agreeable. For some reason my alarm went off an hour earlier than it should have done, and I didn't notice the real time until I'd nearly finished my shredded wheat.

I pumped up the tyres on my sadly under-used soot bike and rolled up to town from 6.30 to 7 on roads that reminded me of how things were in London's rush hour about 20 years ago. Apart from the car at Hatcham that had clearly just been rolled and was lying upside down in the middle of the road like Gregor Samsa - not sure how that was possible, but the fire brigade were arriving to help.

Saw no fixie skidders.

First after dark commute through Richmond Park since moving out west in May. Such quiet.
Decided to be a bit naughty and cut across as I was on a suitable steed. Getting lost in the woods, rabbits, deer and foxes all creeping about in the shadows. Only downside was eyes full of insects. Very nature. 9/10, less insects next time pls.

Skixie fidder spotted down horseguards parade, had a very curious riding style... Sporting a freewheel, employing random and erratic braking to skid out his back wheel whenever he thought there was an opportunity for it.. Looked like he'd managed to get a few pints early.

Made my day start with a smile........thank you.

I blame all drivers, as they have a shared responsibility for each other's actions.

I cycled past someone's car this morning in which the driver had successfully managed to park the car fully upside-down across two lanes on the OKR.

Congratulations.

What is it with people burning away from a junction as soon as the light turns green even though there's a bus in the middle of the junction waiting to turn?

Lovely ride in otherwise.

It wasn't parked very straight and I think the driver had managed to scrape some paintwork while parking.

And, to stay sort of on topic: since stopping work I have been missing commuting so decided to ride up into town last night rather than out into Kent.

Herne Hill, through Brixton to Oval, up to Elephant via relevant clusterfuck, over Southwark Bridge, out to Canary Wharf, down the Isle of Dogs, under the foot tunnel, along the river path to Deptford, around Surrey Quays, tried to loop Rotherhithe but failed, up through Bermondsey, across OKR to Burgess Park, through Camberwell to Loughborough Junction and then home.

Given that it was after 9pm the traffic was light and the temperature was lovely. A few spots of rain over the Deptford cobbles to keep me on my toes.

8/10 would simulacommute again.

Tricky for a wheel clamp to immobilise though I'd have thought? You could push it round on its roof. Cunning.
