  • Yes. In fact I sing it out loud.

  • Cosign!

    Bardet, Bardet, Bar-da-da-dai-det!

  • But it's bardet-ya, so, no.

  • Yes. Yes I do.

  • G holds one of the fastest 4k pursuit times of all time. A real indicator of natural ability.

He has one of the biggest engines in cycling. Bigger than brad. He's maturing.

But still... Riding down Quintana is a hell of a thing on a steep climb.

I think Quintana isn't going so well tbh.

  • I think everyone was tired today, no-one had any real punch, just lots of small jabs.

I know it's heresy, but I don't think Quintana is as good as he's made out to be. Yet.

  • Yeah.

And FYI people G has a ridden faster pursuit time than bad man Bradley. G is a monster still growing into his potential.

  • Maybe the rain put people off. Speaking of 4k fast pursuits.

  • First things first, I don't think GT is doping ... but ...

The line of argument that he is a big classics rider who is remarkably also able to climb with the likes of Quintana - seems on the surface quite a plausible reason to raise eyebrows.

Are there many others who've been able to turn their hands to such different styles?

Fuglang, Kwiatkowski, Vanmarcke, Valverde, Van Garderen...

    ...and that's just today.

  • I know it's heresy, but I don't think Quintana is as good as he's made out to be. Yet.

He won the giro at 24, what more do you want!?

  • I think he needs the roads steep. The steeper the better.

  • Thank you kindly. Need to pick our competition winners for the Kickstarter.

  • WOAR. Great photo.

  • Finally managed to book an afternoon off. Think I'll head to Pretorius Bikes for 1 and settle myself into a corner with coffee and beer

  • The state of this thread.. :(

  • He's supremely talented. But he's below the level of Froome and Contador still, in my opinion.

There was lots of talk before the race of how he was going to wipe the floor with everyone in the mountains. But he didn't do that in the Giro last year, let's not forget he created his race winning lead on a descent in controversial circumstances, and I don't think he's as a destructive climber as some make out.

I still think he'll win the Tour one day.

  • So first it was doping, and now Froome's bike is motorised. In 3 stages time it'll be that Froome swapped with a body double halfway through the stage.

  • Cyborg. catchup.

  • ^All good points andyp.

So break away today, or will the GC teams try to work Sky over and isolate Froome? They're all depleted so are going to have to work together at some point.

  • Holograms innit.

  • They can work for as long as they like is probably what G and Ritchie think at breakfast.

  • ^appetite for destruction

  • The Yates brothers are already doing that ;)

  • It is BST not GMT as we are in British Summer Time.

    Yours pedantically.

    [Nice plug btw]
