I rock road shoes with MTB cleats because all my bieks have 2 bolt pedals.
I'm not totes sure that 3 bolts give a significant advantage 99% of the time and the convenience of riding all bikes in all shoes is worth it.

I look at the Kelly Kettle and think "danger danger!" recalling the 3rd degree burns a buddy sustained when he unthinkingly pulled the cork out when it was boiling up.

symbolic/ironic in this image?

You boil one of those things with the cork out in the first place, surely?
Dreadful bits of equipment, unless you like your tea with a side order of wood ash and scalds.

This.
Found them generally quite effective. Used it for 10 days without noticing any ash or any real burns. They do definitely speed up the boiling process, you can't take that away from them.
The real issue is that you can forget that it is tunneling the flames making it much hotter over the hole in the middle. Really bad if you lift it out of the fire with no gloves.

I stand corrected, mis-remembered the event.
He realized that he had replaced the cork after filling the kettle, attempted to pull it out while things were steaming along, et ergo... -

I'm not mad about this one...

Seriously, WTF are they doing? "The Bike Weighs 15 lbs on the nose" they could have built it with gears and a chain and it would have weighed less than that! the gear ratio is 70x24, which is the same ratio as 58x20 which would have looks less like a half arsed land speed record attempt . Saddle is all guichy. Handle bars are awful.

It's just appalling. I daren't slag it off in the post though, because Reddit hates ANYONE saying that a shit bike is a shit bike. Anything other than 'dude, that is so awesome, I need to do this some day' gets downvoted.

• #38168
Stupid question but how would you remove or change the belt on the bike ?
-
• #38169
Undo that sketchy as fuck looking bolt on the seat stay.
-
• #38170
That's what it is , indeed looks sketchy as fuck
-
• #38171
That bit!
-
• #38172
Hard to explain what exactly went to pot, but yeah, this somehow is just "bleh"
Destickering the wheels would help a lot imho, way too shouty for such a tame colour frame.
-
• #38173
But then that stem+bar combo... And the seatpost+saddle combo. And that fork with that HUUUUGE gap.
-
• #38174
I'm quite forgiving on saddles ;)
Hm yeah fork is indeed weird too. I find the "primer gray" non distinct hue the most offensive, pay all that money for something that essentially disappears in the background on a day with a bit of rain ;)

Just spotted this monstrosity on Gumtree.
a "pie plate"
Usually there because the gears are so badly setup that it's required to prevent the chain or derailleur ripping half the spokes out if it overshifts.
