  • Just wondering if anyone can help with some tyre-sizing advice - currently running Pasela 28's on my 2013 Genesis Equilibrium on a 19mm rim and they just about fit under the guards I've got on there. Am doing LEJOG in a few weeks, have some archetypes to build up and looking for tyres. Will Clement Strada 28s on the wider rim come up any bigger than the paselas? Is there enough of an advantage to the 28s on wide rims over the 25s to justify the slight risk of them not fitting under the guards? Cheers

  • My experience with Archetypes, is that tyres come up one size larger, ie 23mm tyre measures 25mm.

So if 28mm on a narrow rim is tight, then I can't see 28mm on a wide rim fitting.

However, 25mm/wide will ride at least as well as 28mm/narrow.

  • One size wider rather than larger, as it get a tiny bit less height than on narrow rims.

@owl probably best to go for 25mm GP4000s, best thing about wide rims is that the 25mm feel like 28mm.
