  • fwiw pedantry... NHS PCT's are something that have been long replaced by commissioning groups. And clinical practice is not informed by either anyway, the provision of services is, but not the clinical content of those services. That would be informed by best practice in those medical fields and NICE.

  • Or perhaps you locked your bike up around downtube regularly?

  • fwiw pedantry... NHS PCT's are something that have been long replaced by commissioning groups.

    I think the treatment leaflet I got for lower back pain was issued under the rubric of the PCT, possibly because it hadn't needed updating since the demise of that organisation. My CCG is in a federation covering exactly the same area as the former PCT, so I'm not sure what reorganisation has achieved :-)

  • Bit late, but your route is directing you to use an alley way between wimbledon and raynes park... Unless you are searching for discarded porn or riding really slowly, you should either stick to the roads or use the cycle way that's on the other side of the tracks and much nicer.

  • Discarded porn you say?

  • Porn is never discarded, merely handed down

  • or released into the wild. to be amongst its people.

  • Mini V brakes for use with Shimano 6600 shifters? Looking for;

    Powah
    Value
    Adjustable/Clearance to get a 35mm knobbly tyre out to fix a flat.

    Something Tektro?

  • Shimano Sora or Tiagra ones seem nicer than comparably priced Tektro. Clearance is never an issue with V brakes, you just unhook the noodle and they open right up.

  • I cut my seatpost about 100-130mm...31.8mm carbon offcut sitting in the bottom of my parts box.

    In Perth if you get really stuck over your way. (Perth, AU, not Perth Scotland).

  • Thanks, I grabbed a post off TW last night.

  • can I squeeze Panaracer Gravel Kings 28 in CAAD10 2012?

  • I was going to suggest Shimano CX70 cantis, then I remembered the bike I fitted some to has issues due to the downtube-routed gear cables having their stops on the headtube, so the outers interfere with the front brake cable when steering.

  • Will these work with my Ultegra road levers?

    I assumed 'mini-vs' only for 6600 shifters.

    Compact looking. Compatible with road Brake Lever for Flat Handle/Pavement bike.

    :-|

    I don't even...

  • I have Tektro 720 cantis currently.

    Cables run along the tt so shouldn't be an issue but are different canti's going to be a decent step-up?

  • Will these work with my Ultegra road levers?

    Yes, the Sora and Tiagra V-brakes are 90mm long, same as Tektro CX9

  • Mini v will feel a little less direct, but a lots more power.

  • Getting those shimano mini vees to display even return spring tension between the two arms is like getting blood from a stone. It seems to blaze through all of the spring tension adjustment in about a quarter turn of the screw.

  • Does bending the spring arm not work?

  • Can you describe how? I haven't tried.

  • If you ran out of spring tension (and only have one slot for the spring to enter on the fork/frame), then bending this part a little more will give you more range of adjustment;

    It's an old trick, easier to put screwdriver between frame/fork and spring, then bend spring outward using the screwdriver as leverage.

  • I usually hold a screwdriver or allen key near the base of the spring and bend it over that. Have you checked the spring is in the right hole on the boss or if it is going for a higher tension one?

  • Ah, I'm thinking like Scoble.

  • Must buy onions.
