Don't stay out late tonight, and wash behind your ears.

Is African a nationality now?
-
• #1480
Before anyone gets too excited, do remember that they haven't been down the side of a single mountain yet, and there are nine to go rated at 1st cat or above ;-)

The Sky-are-doping-squad are out in full.

I'm assuming this was to me reporting Porte's words. Not being him, I
can't say for sure but, I assume it's because he's a human and has
emotions like empathy and is a good-sport.Porte's Australian. None of these apply.

He's African in the same way that Wiggo is Belgian and Millar is
Maltese.Nationality isn't as simple as just where you were born.
Wiggins was raised in England from a very early age and lives in England.
Froome has never, so far as I am aware, lived in England. He was raised in Kenya and South Africa and lives in Monaco.
People who came to England to live or whose parents came to England to live and live here are English. Those who emigrated over a generation ago are not. Simple really.

Bloody forrins, innit

All this goes to show that this 'first XXX to wear the jersey' only takes away from the athleticism displayed on a personal level, whatever the heritage or bureaucratic designation. IMO.
-
• #1486
Exactly, but he can still hold a UK passport, and I don't see why people get so het up about it.
-
• #1487
Alberto @ 66/1. I'll take that.

If Bitcoin gambling is your thing, check out these stupid odds. They're not even taking bets on Contador any more.
-
• #1489
We've seen Sky smashing it on the first mountain stage and we've seen other teams smash them back. There's no way I'd rule out Contador though, he'll have good days still. I hope so, I don't want this Tour to become a procession.

• #1490
hope that included your referral link for it ;)

• #1491
I put a quid on when he was 2mins down at 11/1.
People forget Contador can race. He already caused Quintana to lose time in the wind.
He's clearly not the strongest rider though.
-
• #1492
Yeah, no-one saying "Froome just did exactly what Nibali was doing last year at virtually identical w/kg"
-
• #1493
A lot of people questioned Nibali's performance last year.
It looks like a done deal, but if Froome's form starts to deteriorate and Quintana's peaks later in the race it could still be interesting. A shame that Quintana lost so much time in the first week.

The tricky thing about Froome is pre-2011 he was pretty rubbish. One thing the data leak showed is his performances are within expectations of achievable athletic ability.

Pre-2011 he was many, many kg heavier #lanceexcuse

From Henderson's domestique, to once in a generation talent. Totally legit.

I do wonder why some people bother watching if they can't take it at face value.
I understand many were duped by Lance Armstrong and many others, but so far no-one has presented any concrete evidence of a team wide doping regime at Sky. But some just can't accept that in a bike race someone will be stronger than the others, so therefore they must be doping.
It's boring.

^ this so much.

Was just trolling. Sorry Andy.

Froome isn't really better than the others, they're just letting him beat them.
Time for the E B White quote on frogs I think.
