    Wiggins was raised in England from a very early age and lives in England.

    Froome has never, so far as I am aware, lived in England. He was raised in Kenya and South Africa and lives in Monaco.

    People who came to England to live or whose parents came to England to live and live here are English. Those who emigrated over a generation ago are not. Simple really.

  • All this goes to show that this 'first XXX to wear the jersey' only takes away from the athleticism displayed on a personal level, whatever the heritage or bureaucratic designation. IMO.

  • Exactly, but he can still hold a UK passport, and I don't see why people get so het up about it.
