  • Odds of a top 10 have just shot up

  • He could still pop. Remember a few years ago (2013?) he nearly got off on the final climb and someone (Porte?) had to do a dodgy gel delivery from the team car to get him moving again.

  • Have you seen the 2011 Vuelta a España?

  • G loses kudos for giving Valverde a bum pat at the finish rather than kicking him off the mountain.

  • You think?

Frankly, considering that Froome's bike-handling is so very extremely bad, he must be doped to do what he did today.

    #trollolol

  • Sky should let Froome do his own thing and ride Thomas onto the podium now.

  • Did movistar fuck that up by doing the work too early in the climb? Left Quintana alone with 3-4 sky riders.

  • Porte v Froome next year then?

  • Looked like they fancied their chances more than they should've - valverde attacking to try and wear them out.

  • I'm glad Porte said he felt bad about taking those seconds from Quintana by attacking at the end. It bugged me a bit, but of course it's a race. He seems to be a solid dude with a good moral compass.

  • Greg backdrop to LeMond on Tour chat

  • Can just see it now Porte to attack Froome...

  • Greg LeMond thinks so

  • why should he apologise? it's a bike race. 'sorry that your weirdo wheel-sucking super domestique laid out bunch of very ill-advised attacks 7km for the top to leave you on your own should either one of us attack a minute later'

  • why should he? it's a bike race. 'sorry that your weirdo wheel-sucking super domestique laid out bunch of very ill-advised attacks 7km for the top to leave you on your own should either one of us attack a minute later'

I'm assuming this was to me reporting Porte's words. Not being him, I can't say for sure but, I assume it's because he's a human and has emotions like empathy and is a good-sport.

  • I'm not trying to be snarky: as in I actually don't understand why he apologised. I understand empathy for someone losing but I don't understand it in this context is what I'm saying.

  • He's got 45 minutes to make up.

  • Poor Froome, the second African to wear polka dots and no-one will notice.

  • Did he actually apologize? I don't remember the interview that well. I think he just said he felt a bit bad. I agree that there's nothing to apologize for.

  • He had em two years ago, if you remember... though obviously he didn't wear them then, and won't wear them now.

  • It was a (crap) joke.

    He's not African officially.

  • He's African in the same way that Wiggo is Belgian and Millar is Maltese.

Nationality isn't as simple as just where you were born.

  • Thanks Dad.
