  • I'd like to build up something with a more sitting up position so i look less like a bell when tottering around town with the girlfriend. I know what size frame to look for if I was building another road bike but I'm not sure how to convert the numbers for a flat (or even swept back) kind of bike. Should i go for the same rough size and reduce the stack/reach with just the bars (or a reduced length stem)?

  • Go to a bike shop that doesn't know anything about road bikes.

  • I ride a 51-52cm top tube frame for a road bike with drops, with a frame with risers or swept back bars 56cm is perfect.

Id say go a wee bit larger. Not much though.
