I'd have to wonder how the owner got buildings insurance without knowing the age of the building

they use the bcis calculator based upon the age and particulars of the building. 'a victorian two-up with XX bedrooms...' will usually be enough

Most insurers ain't that fussed. Victorian or 1800s or similar would suffice. I don't think mine even asked.
