You could always just back up the install data to the drives, and just keep a few installed at a time?
But mine is pretty speedy (a bit kludgy but never had an issue with a normal one protruding out of the case, so have a 128gb one which was ~£18) (if you're really keen you can cut some of the normal card off, as the memory tend to only be in the front end. Obv YMMV)
