New Improved!

Saturday August 8, just over 100KMs of easy rolling to Herne Bay on the Kent Coast (+20KM bonus section - traffic-free to Margate)

Please only bring a fixed or single speed bike on this ride
(Road bikes by appointment only [pm me] - injuries, weak knees, etcetera.)

This is a casual, shorts and t-shirts ride to the coast with pizza and beer waiting
We found an amazing pizzeria

This is not a race, or a training session, or to be taken at all seriously, you do not need any special equipment or clothing

Whats the route once you get to the medway area/ Sittingbourne ? Might have to meet you enroute ?

We come down Bush Road so you could meet us on north side of the M2 Bridge.

Or on the Esplanade just off the A2.

Improved the route and cut out a long stretch of dual carriageway.
Added a hill and 1KM..

This is probably my favourite road ride of the year. Did I mention we found an amazing pizzeria in Herne Bay?

Plan is to ride to Herne Bay, eat pizza then do the bonus 20KM traffic-free to Margate (or you can bail at HB station).

I'd love to make this but sad that I can't as I'm in Edinburgh that weekend :(

Depends who turns up I guess.

The ride is 100KM to Herne Bay where we will be eating pizza. People can bail before or after that.

When done eating I always cruise forward to Margate (20KM) because that coast path is too good.

There are heaps of bail-out stations en-route.

Wondering if theres a regular spfg ride later the same night?

Is pizza an eat in job? I'm lockless.

i won't need to bail, just said i'd be back in london by about 4/5 to help my sister move house (ugh, families, who'd have them, etc) and it's women's track league after 6

oops! just realised i have a barmitzvah to go to on saturday :-(

Not sure but it would be simple to arrange a Circle Line or something later.

There will be enough locks and a decent overview from pizza shop.

Anyway the pizza is so good its probably worth having your bike stolen.
