its not very bad, but i would look into the forks options that offer less than +60mm rake:)

I know what you mean about the fork, it's only 45mm but it looks fucking ridiculous. Was thinking of picking up a columbus tusk or tusk light... Not sure what getting a fork with 30mm rake would do to the geometry...

Get a fork that fits the frame geo, maybe you can find out the fork that would come with it? If that's the fork that comes with it, well then that's what it's supposed to be.
Or, alternatively, try a change but then you need to check if the fork rake fits, increasing or lowering the rake can change handling. Perhaps 5 mm here and there is OK, so if it's 45 now, 40 may be fine, but if you put 35 on the trail may change quite a bit. And 30...eh...
Maybe put white tape/all black cranks on it, but that's pure for looks really.

Great dredge! Out of interest, it looks like this now.

Got a Thomson inline and a fake carbon SMP waiting to go on too. Oh and a new rear wheel.
Edit: and the stem's a bit lower. Will see how low I can go and then get the excess chopped off.

Happy days, how do you find handling now?

Well, technically the forks have the same rake (45mm) as the ones that came with the frame. So there's no real difference in handling that I can tell. I think the new forks are slightly more compliant than the old ones, ride feels a little smoother.
Oh and re: looks - I know it's never going to win any HHSB prizes but I reckon it looks nice and functional now, 'speshly when it's got the Carradice on there. Only problem is the slack seat tube angle, need a frame with something steeper. And maybe crabon wheels with white hubs to match the headset. :)
So this is my first foray into the world of track bikes, fixed gears and so forth. The frame was too much of a bargain to pass up, so I thought I'd spend some time building it up with a mix of new and used parts. I've created this thread so you lot can mercilessly take the piss out of it and tell me why I'm a dimwit.
Here's the pics, do your worst:
