They had stock in store when I went in on Sunday. If you really want then sure they will post if you give them a call.

I need to ring them for a frame number info joby. Good shout, I'll ask them :)

I think they charge for that now so that might get you a discount or for free

So Mercian got back to me and confirmed that although they can remove the logos from the rear triangle, they don't want to touch the fork as they would have to sand through the lacquer. I asked them to go ahead and do the triangle, the steel is going to yellow enamel no.26, black block lettering. Looks like I'll have to get the 600 grit out myself to deal with that fork. Eeep...

That's a lovely frame, nice subtle colour combo. Another frame with only once set of bottle bosses - seemingly a Mercian hallmark?

Oh my! That's stunning. Me likey.
Annoyingly my Mercian tourer was built with only one set of bottle mounts, seems strange for a touring specific frame.
The option is there for up to three mounting points, maybe people just find it an easy way to lessen the cost.
@700x23 do you have any more pictures? -

Only this with Racing 1's as opposed to the Ambrosia Nemesis that I bought from @•Ⓣ•
I will get some posted over the weekend

That really is a lovely colour, light blue enamel perchance? On the subject of bottle bosses Mercian got back to me to ask if, while the frame is stripped, I wanted any extra braze ons adding. I've got them to add another bottle boss (the frame only had one) and I was considering adding braze on down tube cable stops and front derailleur mounts. They persuaded me against as the 853 tubing is pretty thin and prefers not being hacked about. Now I just have to be patient and decide on how I'm going to build it...

Dude that is going to be so nice. Can't wait to see it finished. As I've got a 'classic' Mercian already (There's a pic further up this thread somewhere) I'm often toying with building up a modern steel, fast Mercian.

Thanks, Dan. I've wanted to build up a 'race ready' Mercian for years - I like the fact that steel is having a bit of a resurgence when it comes to pro bikes, what with Madison Genesis & JLT Condor running them recently. Your classic build is lovely - to be honest that might be my next project. Maybe we should organise a twinning/exchange program!

Still some lovely machines turn up on here...good work!
Anyone going to organise a mercian ride yet? We could do some 'old fashioned' bike packing.....ie, camping!

Just ordered some compass stampede pass 700x32c for the vincitore special....will post pics once fitted. They are meant to be fantastic! But a bit spendy...

I'd be interested to hear how you get on with those. I am considering the Chinook Pass for mine, I don't think I could fit more than 28mm on it.

I've got 28's on at the moment, and there seems to be a load of room....they should be here Friday, I hope!

initially im building it up with a 9 speed 105 triple groupset, rigida snyper rims, dynamo etc for commuter/shopping duties. If I'm really liking the frame, I might send it to mercian as my chistmas present to myself for a respray lol

Was chatting to the top honchos at Mercian at Eroica and they confirmed that an owner's club with a proper register and privileges is in the works, along the lines of Bianchi. Only better value for money..

I want that mug!
