From experience repairing aluminium is difficult, and usually expensive. I had a similar repair done in Sheffield and cost me £110 plus painting. Luckily it's in a relatively low stress joint. If it was bottom bracket or head tube I'd probably say bin it. You'd be looking for an experienced TIG welder.

Paramount in SW London have a good rep and do filet welding. It's the usual story though, whether they would take on such a small job and how many $$$s:

Fantastic! Thanks for the advice.
I knew it would be a chore but I got the frame for free so I thought that I'll try and resurrect it. I'll give paramount a shout and see what they say. Otherwise, the same mechanic that I spoke with said that he knows some industrial welders in Bristol who would undertake the job for a few beers so provided I can't find anyone in London, I'll probably go for that option.
I've recently acquired an original Dolan Track Champion with a crack where the integrated seat clamp is. I've spoken with a reputable mechanic and he said that it's probably weld-able. Can anyone recommend a good welder in London who would have the technical knowledge to be able to do this?
