Any clue as to what's in Sky's finishing bottles?
Sugars + something to accelerate absorption I assume. Maybe some fancy minerals in case you're on the verge of passing out.
I might hypothetically buy some but it'd be more of an emergency option than a performance thing. Carrying a roll of boiled sweets currently.
Ah, caffeine makes sense.

I use this for finishing. Buzzy but the smack is great for winding down after the race.

They don't contain vitamins.

Yeah, I've read those articles. Just (naively) hoping that Sky wouldn't spend millions developing their riders then gradually making them into smack heads.
Maybe they've been concocting something a bit more wholesome. Caffeine and..... ? -

Sky should have take that, but hey you win as a team you lose as one...

ouch, one second down

I can't see anyone beating Froome from here. Looking forward to seeing Nairo try in the mountains though.

One of the best first weeks of a Tour I can remember, pretty much every stage had something, I think only the second stage that Greipel won was processional. Do like the incorporation of mini-classics into it, will be a hard act to follow next year. Like seeing G in the top ten, he's been so powerful all week, I don't see him as an overall contender for GC in the future, but hey stranger things have happened, look at Froome. If he does cue 'transformation' cries from the Luddites in the clinic (already happening if course) but the man is pure class on a bike. Looking forward to Tuesday

Finishing bottle is essentially stimulants & painkillers? Sure Lemsip max is something similar? How hard can cracking the sportive market be?
Anyway, that's a different thread altogether.
TTT was probably about as exciting as it could be, and yet was still interminably dull and punished barguil, Pinot and Bardet. ASO must be kicking themselves

It's been a mental first week. I feel like I need a rest day from spectating! Looking forward to the mountains and seeing if Quintana or Contador are capable of dethroning Froome. It doesn't look like Nibali is up to the task this year.

I like TTTs. They're great. And I liked having one a bit later. They should do it every year. In fact, they should do 3 TTs every year, 2 individual - one long and one short - and one team. To whom do I write?

Yeah it's nice to know even Astana and Movistar have the same issues as a bunch of club choppers when it comes to riding in a hard in a group (just at higher speed and with fewer Range Rovers).
We'd mostly just chat about cycling and I would do the cooking while she was out interviewing folk.
