Sky going native if the rumours are true, four Basque riders all from the missed Euskaltel Euskadi team. Can Landa be turned into a GT prospect? One of the best climbers out there, but I remember his ITT in the Giro was poor. No doubt going to be deployed more as a climbing domestique.

Makes good sense. Or does it? I mean, you get four Basque guys, then they've got a good friendly training group... but does that then mean you get cliques forming in the team? Does that even matter in cycling?

Cataldo moved on, he's at Astana now. Henao has been racing, but he seems to have dropped down the pecking order, ever since that odd sequence where he was sent home to Columbia so Sky could investigate the effect of living at altitude on blood values, which loosely translates as he came from the off season in Colombia with some dodgy numbers so they didn't want to race him.

Let's not forget that he suffered a potentially career ending crash at the Tour de Suisse last year. It was always going to take some time to come back from that.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's because Sky have some business plan for Spain.
If we accept that Sky check riders' bio passports carefully and only take ones they believe to be clean then it's encouraging that someone who succeeded at Astana could be hired. Or they just thought, fuck it, what's the most provocative move we could make? Take that, Clinic trolls!

Well they did sign JT-L, who Garmin were wary of due to funny numbers. So at some point, they weren't checking their numbers all that well. I imagine they'd have learned from that though.

Not sure if it is the right time for him, but he's a huge talent.

Taylor Phinney will start the Tour of Utah on Monday. It'll be great to see him back racing after the long rehabilitation from a truly horrific injury.
