That some stable...

Don't forget to put the right (anti-seize) paste on the seatpost...
Stunning bike. I tried to reach the Panasonic-company (for a respray of my nineties PR6000 frame) so everytime I see a bike in this colour scheme, I'm jealous. ;-)

........ damn.. that's one good looking flite!! and that colnago!!
if you ever do want let it go, do let me know! ha, thanks.

wow, thanks for the links!
i've never seen anyone with those flites before.with euroasia, all you need to do is ask someone with a company account with them, usually bike shops, then you can order from them thru that account. i've made orders before. they have... almost everything... it's crazy.

thanks, i might give it a go. it's not completely finished, i'll update the post as soon as it's done.

still rad as fuck
-
• #33
Quite possibly the best frame I have seen.
-
• #34
mang this is so, so nice.

Cheers. I'm sure one will turn up soon, if actively seeking, as they were such a popular saddle. It's worth looking on the MTB forums as they have/had a tendency to add colour to their builds.

"This frame is nothing much to look at"
Never have I read anything that I disagree with more. What a beautiful frame.

no they're all wrong it's terrible paint, you don't need a bike with such terrible paint, of course I would be happy to take it off your hands...

I just came across this thread by accident, but have to say:
DAMN.
DAAAAAAAAMN.
And I haven't said that looking at a bike on this forum for quite a while.
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN.
Just fucking amazing. Good choice on everything.

love this frame, can say its my favourite on the forum. i think i would build it differently, i dont think the shamals suit it that well... but each to their own

Stunning frame and a quality build!

Very plush. Agreed though on the Shamals. They look a bit cheesy on such a stylish frame, it would probably look the part with regular 20-30mm track wheels, perhaps on DA, all silver of course.

Wow! Thanks for all the awesome feedbacks! To be honest, I wasn't kidding about this bike being a beater, as out of all my bikes, this frame has the most beat up paint job, with the most sign of usage.
With all these positive feedbacks, now that I'm just afraid to modify it even further, as I'll probably upset you guys! ha..
Well, here it goes, don't worry, shamals are always there to be put back on if you guys really hate this... ha
Gone are the shamals, fizik, and c-record cranks. Campagnolo Pista wheelset and Campagnolo Record crankset are added instead, to make all components a bit more time period correct. Fizik is replaced by a Regal to give it a bit more rugged look. With the addition of al the blacks, the overall build looks more balanced, I think.. The downside is, too much branding on those damn Campy wheels! I might have to mark them over with a black vivid..

Looks great.
Can you not peel off the branding (provided they're decals)? If you heat it with a hair dryer it is easier I think. -

It's your bike, we're just here to watch. And I don't think you can really go wrong unless you tried.
New incarnation looks great by the way so don't worry! Really like the black bits. Wheel logo's look fine to me. Wouldn't removing them decrease the resell value? Not really a fan of the saddle, but comfort is probably a bigger priority when choosing one.
Are you planning on changing it much further in the future? I'll be keeping an eye on this thread then.

I liked the Shamals more. The Pista wheels seem a little formulaic, wheras the Shamals defy convention but have just the right amount of "Look. Look at my bike. Look at my fucking awesome bike" to suit the frame. For my money, anyway. Preferred the Fizik too.

That's a lovely frame. Don't like the gumwalls on it though.
-
• #47
Lovely frame, shamals looked better IMO
-
• #48
I completely agree with 3cc and giles337, Shamals look better. But in both case it doesn't math the "frame which I can just thrash around" requirement ^^
Really nice bike though, I'm going to follow this.

Mind me asking what tyres they are exactly? Walls look a really nice tan colour - not the yellowed out type! Thanks, D

Vittoria Pista I would guess
Personally, I'd say a thinner stem would be better.
