Thermal Bibs and nanoflex leg warmers will get you through 99% of the british winter
-
• #21253
I run really warm but still wouldn't fancy riding a winter without tights.
-
• #21254
One cannot ride without longs in a UK winter
-

knee coverage needed below 16C. either knee warmers, 3/4 bibshorts or overtights.
my knees are fucked and arthritic, if they get cold they grate
-
• #21256
yeah totally agree but tights? really? I am from a warm country and I still think it doesent get cold enough for tights ..
-
• #21257
It does damage to your knee joints especially that manifests itself years later.
It's best to wear them as a precaution.
-
• #21258
Tights are great. Apart from helping my knees and keeping my hips warm, I find full coverage on my legs helps circulation in my feet too.
-

On those marginal days it depends if you're riding with someone slower or faster than you...

Just been to the shop to try stuff; I have defiantly sized down in everything; need to go XS. Expect a clearout thread of small and medium stuff soon .. also you can use the survey code in the shop.

I have defiantly sized down
You rebel you.

Why not just hit the gym?
-
• #21263
Are the lightweight bib shorts based on classic bibs or pro team? Colourway suggests pro team (last season) but there are lightweight bibs specifically named as pro team, so...?
-
• #21264
I thought Rapha had some sort of size down policy?
-
• #21265
They do, but only for jerseys, and only for jerseys bought within the last year.
-
• #21266
This is good to know. I was about to go and splurge. Would have been my first ever full price rapha item too. Phew.
-
• #21267
They should have a 'bulk up' policy for sprinters too. Racists.
-
• #21268
Anyone want my -20% code?
She who must be obeyed has made me feel too guilty about a different purchase to pull the trigger on my Rapha basket full of stuff I probably don't need.
I will pm the first to repy in thread repy. Pls don't pm me.

• #21269
Just wait until their real sales, when you can get a decent saving. Even with the discount code most of the Rapha stuff is still very pricey.

PTJ(acket) in medium .. coral

Hi Hugo7, may I? Thanks

Ok internet don't fail me now. I'm going to ride some french alps in september and was wondering what to take for the descents. I like the idea of a jacket rather than a gilet to wear in case we have some rainy spells. Whats the best packable jacket to take with me, Rapha or otherwise. I've got one of the rain jackets but it's pretty flappy in the wind.
-
• #21273
The wind jacket is pretty good for that. Or a gilet and armwarmers would work.
-
• #21274
or race cape if its likely to be showery weather
-
• #21275
if not sure, just have a support vehicle with multiple costume changes, and be all pro and shit
But those only have -10% discount? With Rapha I have the opportunity for -20%!
Do you even math?
@villa-ru - I was thinking of Dan's suggestion and buying two and sending one back. Although they only really do general sizes and in the non-leather gloves L were too big and I couldn't get my hands into S.
I've got short fat hands with a fucked up swollen right thumb so usually I spend hours buying gloves. Going through every single model on display in a couple of sizes and often the same size / model to account for manufacturing variances.
