Met Hoke, nice fella, i only stuck around for some of the quali's and it was getting too hot for me and beer was £5 a pint.
This is all new to me, roadie track race, i do mountain bike DH racing, at first i was all like.... i could have a chop at this...
Then i walked around the pits and checked out the bikes, oh my, shiny and spendy and some very serious spendy.
Then i noticed the riders, skinny lean racing machines.
Then i noticed all the turbo trainers/rollers.
Then i noticed and dodged my way out of pits through the growing flurry of warm up laps around the pit car park.
To sum up, i reckon i might have made it through one quali and been ruined trying to keep up.
Then i watched the mens first quali, fella off the back off the pack in red lycra, he was greying beard and his face looked like pain borderline heart attack. Maybe next time :)
Fair shout for having a go to red lycra man.
My battery died and the heat killed me, racing starts later, will wop some piccys up if any are good.
